On One Pleasant Evening

One of life's bittersweet truths is that we must release those we love, and the things we cherish. Letting go is painful, but true love allows for the freedom to choose. Khalil Gibran's timeless words, "If you love someone, let them go. If they return, they were always yours. If they don't, they never were," resonate deeply with this reality.

As I reflect on the memories of bygone evenings, some stand out more vividly than others. One such evening brought me three companions who have remained by my side, a constant source of support and comfort. These dear friends hold my secrets close, and their loyalty is unwavering. For their presence in my life, I am grateful, for finding such rare and steadfast friends is a blessing beyond measure.

On one pleasant evening as the sun set, The gentle breeze whispered secrets I won't forget, Reminding me of loved ones who've passed away, Yet urging me to move forward, not to stay.

I begged the breeze to stay with me a while, And as the evening turned to night, I wore a smile, In the moonlight, I heard the silence speak, Of a love that would remain, even when I felt weak.

As time passed by, the moon hid behind a cloud, The night grew darker, the silence spoke loud, Whispering that I was not alone anymore, And that we could talk for hours, and even more.

As the night wore on, the rain began to fall, Renewing my mind, erasing worries tall, It spoke to me of change, and how to accept, To trust in my Lord, for He will never neglect.

That night, the rain of mercy swept away my fear, Filling me with confidence, wiping every tear, I am grateful for the friends I made that night, The Breeze, The Silence, and The Darkness, my guiding light.

So I embrace the winds of change with open arms, Knowing that they bring me closer to my Lord's charms, For on one pleasant evening, I learned to let go, And trust in my Lord, for He will guide me through all my lows.

The deepest desire of every heart is to love and be loved, and while each person's story is unique, we cannot presume to know all of its chapters. Sometimes, it is better to be alone and content than to be surrounded by a crowd and feel utterly alone.

Change is an inevitable part of life, and though painful experiences may linger, we must not allow them to hold us back from progressing. Learning to let go is essential to our growth, and hasty generalizations from a few incidents can only impede our journey forward.

Trust is the bedrock upon which the world runs. The Quran speaks of how the trust was offered to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, and yet they all declined to bear it, while man took it upon himself, though he was ignorant and unjust. Such mutual trust is the foundation of society and relationships.

Love and gratitude are the cornerstones of a fulfilling life, making each day worth living.
